Living Room

Museum of Museums, Seattle

October 29 2020 – August 28 2021

48 collected artworks, two couches, credenza, coffee table, six coasters, two side tables, three lamps, bookshelf, dozens of art publications, eight plants and planters, several tchotchkes, iMac and website, 2020

Held in the lobby of the new Museum of Museums in Seattle WA, SKAM’s inaugural exhibit is a recreation of the founder’s actual living room, replete with couches, tables and lamps, credenza and iMac TV. Adorning its walls and surfaces are works from the Impermanent Collection, an extensive collection of work by budding and established artists of the last fifteen years, displayed lovingly alongside growing plants, meaningful trinkets and other ephemera.

In the end, who knows the work better—those who created it, or they who lived with it?
