Sarah Sandman is an artist I greatly admired in my early days engaging in the art world. Her exhibitions incorporated visual arts, design, found ephemera, and frequently the viewer as well. This wee piece was one of several available for around $20, hung among larger, more elaborate and complete works. I snagged it immediately. After all these years collecting, these kinds of affordable take-home items—merch basically!—remain highly desirable to me, but also very inspiring.
